I mean, they never really worked and I never got emotionally attached to any of the characters, so when I saw that this game was going to use story elements from a fantasy world, I was worried. It was a good move, because Elden Ring really made my nostalgic for a good fantasy action-RPG. Elden Ring feels like a Bioware game, even if it is an action-RPG. Unlike Mass Effect, and Dragon Age, Bioware games aren’t always a story-based experience. They’re known for their mechanics and pacing. I have to thank the game for that. I know a lot of players are going to complain about how the character progression isn’t done in a traditional way, and the combat is really easy, but this isn’t an RPG that takes a long time to tell a story, it’s a game that wants to focus on keeping players happy with fun mechanics. Action is king for me, and it is what this game is focused on. Each of the worlds that are separated into territories have their own story and their own world-building. To me, it is a good addition to the game. Players can create their own character by choosing their stats, traits and appearance, just like in any other RPG.
